Incorporated ACNC-registered nonprofits, businesses or sole traders with a valid ABN, and WA local governments may apply for eligible heritage education, engagement or interpretation projects. Funding is generally 50:50; substantiated in-kind contributions may meet the applicant share. Appropriate insurance, heritage-professional involvement and owner permission are needed where applicable. Major projects need additional capacity-building, heritage-education or reactivation criteria. Started projects, duplication, ordinary venue events and conservation without hands-on training are excluded. Applicants with an unfinished previous-round grant should confirm eligibility with the funder.

Prepare the project plan, budget, insurance, owner consent where applicable and at least two quotes per task unless the department agrees to one beforehand. Confirm unfinished previous grants, assessment-program eligibility and professional-fee treatment with the funder. Do not start before both parties sign the agreement and required approvals are obtained.
